Due to the good mechanical and physical properties, Angelim Pedra is often used in all kinds of hydraulic constructions, like bridge constructions, sheet pilings, jetties, sound barriers, stables and piles but mainly for Decking’s and Street Furniture.
Common Uses – Because of its durability, Angelim Pedra is popular for decking, flooring and street furniture and is often used in exterior construction and boatbuilding. It is also a desirable wood for fine furniture, especially when wide widths are needed.
Colour / Appearance – The heartwood has a beautiful rich color; varying shades of reddish-brown and darker vertical striping. The sapwood is a lighter color and not always clearly defined.
Rot Resistant – Rated as very durable and decay and insect resistant. It is a strong, dense wood.
Odor – Angelim Pedra has no distinct Odor
Sustainability – This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices or on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
